Nottingham University Hindu Kush 1972
The team made several first ascents in the area, including the the north face of Koh-i-Khaaik (5860m) and the north face of Koh-i-Mondi (6248m), along with a number of other routes on lower peaks. The expedition also conducted mapping of the area and an ecological survey, including the collection of insect and lichen samples. Despite great successes on the expedition itself, the expedition ended on a down note when the team were robbed at a petrol station during their return journey before a car crash in Iran injured several of the participants.
