Carlisle Mountaineering Club Himalayan Expedition 1977

Part of this team drove overland to India from Carlisle, arriving at the start of September and meeting up with the rest of the party in Kishtwar. From here they travelled on foot to Sarbal where they established base camp. The team failed to climb their primary objective, Sickle Moon Peak / Bharanzar Peak (6574m), reaching a high point of ~5800m on the south ridge. However, they were successful in climbing an unnamed 6000m peak, with May reaching the summit.
