The Irish Himalayan Expedition to Garhwal (1981)
A 3-man team, under Ian Rea, achieved a previously unclimbed route, taking 4 days, on the 2,100m snow and ice N face of Bhagarathi II, reaching the summit above the Gangotri Glacier on 10 September. After descending.from the summit by the previously climbed E face and unroping on relatively easy ground, one member of the party fell about 250m, and was killed.
