The Endless Holdings - Cho Oyu

This large party sought to make the first British ascent of Cho Oyu (8188m) via a new route from the south onto the mountain's east ridge. While they were successful in pushing a series of camps up the mountain from which to launch a bid, they were denied the summit. Preistman and Jackson succeeded in reaching the east ridge in a three-day push from camp IV but, despite coming within sight of the summit, the pair were forced to abandon their attempt when their path was blocked by a colossal gully system.
