Reading Climbing Group Expedition to Kangde (1981)
Three members of this team successfully accomplished a new route up the NE face of Kongde Shar (6100m), just W of Namche Bazar, which they found difficult enough to be interesting without being desperate. Kongde Lho, to the W, is still unclimbed. Their descent down the S side of Kongde Shar led into route-finding difficulties in cloud and forest, and it was only after some prolonged bush-whacking that the route over the Lumding La back to the Dudh Khosi was found.
