RAF Menthosa 1994

This team planned to explore the Chamba/Lahul area of India and climb Menthosa (6,443m) by two different routes. However, the mountain had changed dramatically, making the climbing far more technical than anticipated, so that they could not progress beyond 6,257m. The trip was not without its problems, as their trekking group abandoned them in appalling weather, and the leader suffered concussion after being struck by a large block of ice; fortunately he made a full recovery.
