The Katchikani area of the Hindu Kush is restricted, so it had previously been visited by few (if any) Westerners. This team explored the Thalo glacier and made probably the first ascent of a 5,441m peak which they called 'Salghira Zom' - Chitrali for 'Birthday Peak'.
