Chamlang 1955
Following the 1955 Kangchenjunga expedition, Norman Hardie stayed on in Nepal with the aim of adding to the work of Major J. O. M. Roberts who, during his ascent of Mera Peak, had surveyed the Hongu and Innukhu Khola. After an initial crossing from Tseram to Khumjung with his three sherpa companions, Hardie met up with his wife Enid and A. J. Macdonald from New Zealand. With a larger party including Macdonald, Hardie then set out to carry out his surveying work in the are around Mera Peak.
