British Shel Chakpa 1999
Originally naming their expedition after the nearby village of Doko (in the Arandu valley south of the Biafo), on arrival in the vicinity this team found that the locals called their prominent 5,800m objective 'Shel Chakpa'. All four succeeded in reaching the summit via an ice/mixed TD route on its WNW Ridge/Face. Two of the team then had to leave for home, but Wilkinson and Muir stayed on, and also climbed Barbanchen, c. 5,700m.
