British/New Zealand Central Tien Shan Expedition
Both pairs of this four-member party made, on separate days, successful ascents of Khan Tengri (7,010m) by the W ridge and of Pik Pobeda (7,439m) also by its W ridge, in the Tien Shan (Celestial) Mountains on the Sino-Soviet border.
