British Mongolian Altai Expedition
This team of four British and two Mongolian climbers made the first Western ascent of Munkhairkhan (4,204m) and of Malchin (4,150m) in West Mongolia. Two members made the first recorded crossing of the pass linking Doloon Nuur and Shuurkhai. They noted that Mongolia offers much new ground for mountaineers.
