British Gasherbrum IV
This team of six planned to climb a new route on the S ridge to make the first British ascent of this 7,980m peak, but once on the mountain they decided to try the S face route attempted by an American team in 1992 instead. After fixing some rope, a storm and high winds ended the climb at c7,300m. This was higher than the Americans had reached.
