British Annapurna II Winter Expedition

The Rutlands and two others planned the first winter ascent of the N face of Annapurna II from a Base Camp at 4,200m. During the first week of December frequent and massive powder avalanches swept over both high and low base camps. On II December, after reaching 6,000m in deep snow, Ron Rutland decided to abandon the attempt.
