Beusten Glacier 1994
One of the hottest summers ever recorded in this area melted much of the snow, making river crossings hazardous on the approach, and replacing névé with hard ice on the mountains: rock avalanches were also frequent. Nevertheless, the team achieved its objective of making the first ascent of a previously unnamed c6,000m mountain (subsequently named 'Jog's Peak') by its 1,000m S face at Scottish grade III/IV. They also repeated the original N ridge route on NASA Peak (c5,640m).
