Scottish Khumbu Expedition 2006
When his lead climber withdrew from the team, this leader had to reevaluate his objectives. To acclimatise, Chadwick and Hamade climbed the normal route on Lobuje (4,943m) and after a reconnaissance, Buchanan decided to repeat a route on the west rib of Cholatse (6,400m). On this he reached 5,900m before avalanche hazard and the difficulties of breaking trail made retreat the safest option.
