Difficulties obtaining permits prevented this two-man party from reaching the Karakoram. They headed instead to Swat-Koshistan where they made the first ascent of Falak Sar (5929m), reaching the summit via the north ridge and Barteen Peak (5638m). They then obtained a permit for Chitral where they made the first ascent of Buni Zom (6542m).
