MEF to Premiere New Film on 1924 Everest Expedition

The Mount Everest Foundation's has supported the production of a new Alpine Club film 'Everest Revisited 1924-2024'. The film will have its world premiere at the Kathmandu Mountain Film Festival on 29 May as part of the promotion of the MEF’s extended eligibility of grants to Nepalese alpinists and scientists. The UK Premiere will be on 8 June at the Royal Geographical Society as part of the Himalayan Trust's commemorative event.

Everest Revisited

The film uses extensive historical footage, as well as interviews with Everest scholars and mountaineers to tell the story of 1924 and to ask questions about what the mountain means to climbers and local people 100 years on from this famous expedition.

The film will also feature at the opening of Alpine Club's exhibition Everest 1924 on 11 June at the Alpine Club's Charlotte Road premises in London.
