The team climbed via the northwest ridge of Patrasi North (6471m), making the second ascent of this peak before traversing the interconnecting ridge to reach the summit of Patrasi Southwest at 16:35 on June 12 2024. The ascent took a three days. From the summit, they returned to their high camp and descended back to base camp the following day.

The three climbers made their ascent in alpine style and offered a grade of D for their new line.

The trio, who dubbed their expedition 'Project Light and Fast', are the first Nepalese team to receive funding from the MEF since the foundation opened its grant scheme to teams from Nepal in late 2023.

MEF Honorary Secretary John Porter said:

“This expedition exemplifies exactly the type of project which the MEF seeks to support. A small, lightweight team attempting a previously unclimbed objective, with a focus on good style and low environmental impact.

When we opened applications to teams from Nepal, we could hardly have imagined a more perfect project to mark the start of this new era. Hopefully it is the first of many.”
