Welsh Central Torres del Paine
Few expeditions can have undergone as many changes between conception and completion as this one. Following changes to leadership and three team members, the trip was postponed from late 2007 into 2008, which was most unfortunate, as during that time, their prime objective was climbed by an Italian team. But that didn’t deter these stalwarts, who turned their attention to the deep Bader Valley to the south of the Central Towers massif. Here they succeeded in making the first ascent of a 700m granite pillar on the east face of Cuerno Norte (2400m). They called their 20 pitch (ED 5.10 A4) route 'The Devil Rides Out'.
