Oxford University Botanical Expedition to Papua New Guinea 1983
Michael Venables and Timothy Shepherd based themselves on the Australian National University Research Station on Lake Aunde to study the reproductive isolating mechanisms of the plant Drymis Piperita in the area of Mt. Wilhelm (Simbu Province). After 5 weeks in the Pindaunde Valley they trekked over a 4,570m summit to the Jimni Valley.
