Mount King George

This two-man team hoped to make the first ascent of the NE Ridge of Mount King George, 3,741m, in the St Elias mountains of Yukon. With horrendous seracs and weather conditions, they abandoned their attempt at 3,120m. They were more successful on their secondary objectives, making the first ascent of Peak 3089m and a new route (via the S Ridge and Peak 3118m) on Mount Queen Mary, 3,928m. The walk-out was traditional for this leader - 50km down the Hubbard Glacier, using a 1:1000000 map!
