Hidden Alaska
Poor weather prevented this pair from reaching their intended objective in the Kichatna Spires. Instead they flew in to the south face of the Moose's Tooth with the aim of establishing a big-wall style route. They made attempts on two lines, one on the south face proper and the other on a buttress to the left of the Ham and Eggs couloir. In both cases they found the rock quality to be too poor to progress safely and were forced to retreat after arriving at sections composed of extremely large, suspect flakes. In their report the pair also noted the additional challenges posed by the unseasonable warm weather which the region experienced this season.
