Cambridge Tibesti 1957

This expedition to the Tibetsi range in what was then the Chad Territory of French Equatorial Africa, succeeded in making the first ascent of Emi Koussi (3415m). The party also made ascents of Pic Wobou, described as "a prominent aiguille between Bardai and Aouzou", The Imposter and Hadrian's Peak. An attempt on Tieroko came within 200 feet of the summit cone, but was ultimately unsuccessful. Additionally, ten members of the party reportedly made the 2,500 foot descent to the base of the Tour au Natron volcano crater.
