1971 British Expedition to Mount Roraima

The 1971 British expedition to Roraima achieved the first British exploration and ascent of the north ridge of Roraima, but did not receach the summit due to the dificulty of the terrain. They mapped, using aerial photographs Roraima, Kukenaam and sister mesas, and undertook biological surveys of the northern slopes and ridge of Roriama. They also demonstrated the viability of approaching objectives in Guyana by parachute.
