Plans to make the first British ascent of a series of routes from Ruth Glacier had to be abandoned in view of the high avalanche risk caused by unseasonably warm weather. As a consolation, some exploration was carried out on the Buckskin Glacier east of the Moose's Tooth and Broken Tooth.
