1976 Peruvian and Patagonian Andes
This small team of three (originally five, but two members left the expedition due to an injury occurred while climbing in the US prior to onward travel) climbed throughout South America over several months, achieving a number of notable repeats and first ascents. These included: the first ascent of the north-west face of Nevada Ulta (5875m); the first ascent of the north-east ridge of Illimani (6432m); the first ascent of the west ridge of Tiqumani (5608m) and the first ascent of 'The Mummer' (2743m) in the Frances valley.
